Bright and Early!

Normally my posts go live in the evening, but I wanted to give you a heads up that bright and early tomorrow morning I’m teaming up with a terrific group of bloggers for a special autumn event, and you’ll be able to see my latest project.   I won’t tell you what it is, but I will tell you it involves some fun little wood slices, an old window, and 2 little owls. Aren’t they cute?! Edited to add – {Read More}

Apple Inspired Chair Makeover

If you reach back in your memory bank, you may recall a sweet little chair that I gave a makeover last year.  I really did love it, but the other day I started craving some apple inspired color in my house, so I made over that sweet little chair again!  That’s the nice thing about paint – you can change your mind on a whim and have a whole new look in no time.

Old Shipping Crate – New Stencil Design!

I’ve been batting around ideas for a new stencil design, and the thought of creating one that could be used to make antique style wooden shipping crates popped into my head.  I absolutely love old crates, but have you seen the prices on them lately?  Yikes!  They are super expensive – especially if they have cool typography on them. I love getting the real thing when it’s affordable, but since I haven’t found one in several years, creating my own is the {Read More}

Printable Vintage Shipping Tag & a Freebie for You!

A few weeks ago when I was shopping in an antique store, I found a bag full of unused, old stock vintage shipping tags.  You’ll probably recognize the red checkerboard pattern on them, as being from the Purina company, and it was that design that made me snatch them up! Because the Purina company is still in existence (and I don’t want to get sued), I’ve added my watermark so it can’t be printed, but I wanted you to see {Read More}

KISS: Easy Rustic Bench Makeover in Just 3 Steps!

I’ve been thinking I need to do a weekly KISS project (keep it simple stupid).  It’s a good reminder for me that not every project needs to have 20 steps to complete, and challenges me to keep projects as simple as possible. Last week when I brought home a bunch of bargains from a thrift store grand re-opening, one of my purchases was this  rustic bench. It’s super sturdy, has great wood, and I knew it wouldn’t take much effort to give {Read More}

Flea Market Finds

I got up bright and early last Saturday to hit the flea market with my husband, only to find my husband was already awake, but feeling lousy.  We waited for awhile, but he still felt awful and went back to bed, but bless my oldest son’s heart – he went with me.  I haven’t gone to a single flea market all summer, and I’d never been to this particular one, so I was pretty excited. He really wasn’t interested in {Read More}

Autumn Sheet Music Printable

Autumn will be here soon, so I have a pretty autumn printable for you.  It’s an antique sheet music page, called “Breath of Autumn”, that came from a 1920’s magazine for musicians.  There are so many projects this could be used on, like a greeting card, or as part of mantle decor.  Enjoy! {CLICK ON IMAGE TO ENLARGE} If you use it to create a project, be sure to share it on my Reader Features page HERE. You can find more free printable antique sheet {Read More}

When a Dictionary is Useless

This post was sponsored by Perfect Linens. As if my lousy eyesight and crackling knees didn’t remind me on a daily basis that I’m getting older, my oldest son drove that point home for me today. We were riding in the car and he commented how much he liked the pair of jeans he was wearing. “They’re really comfortable,  like jeggings- except they’re for guys.” he elaborated.

Worst Mom in the World Award (DIY Photo Blocks)

Show Off Your CUTE Kids Photo Blocks! I’m pretty sure I get the award for the worst mom in  the history of mom’s who make scrapbooks filled with their kid’s photos. I discovered scrapbooking when my oldest 3 kids were fairly  young, and was gung ho to make them each their own keepsake albums that they would treasure for years to come.  I envisioned these albums getting passed down from generation to generation, so I loaded up on new albums, pretty papers, {Read More}
