Keeping Time

It was a quiet day at my house today.  The 3 oldest kids were all at work, and my teenager left to stay with a friend, so it was just hubby and I at home. I thought about going to the flea market, since I haven’t been there yet this year, but one look at the forecast convinced me that it wouldn’t be fun walking around during a downpour and thunderstorm. So, since I don’t have any great finds to {Read More}

Well, Butter My Bread! {Baking Center Sign, Apron, and Table Runner}

My poor bread machine has been sitting forgotten and forlorn in my pantry for more than 3 years.  It was one of my most dearly loved kitchen appliances, helping me bake fresh bread 3 times a week, but when we moved from Missouri to Illinois more than three years ago, it got stuck in the barn while we remodeled our kitchen.  By the time the remodel was finished, I had gotten used to buying store-bought bread, and just stopped making homemade {Read More}

Old Feed Sack Style Tote Bag, Sign or Pillow

I can’t believe it’s already July, and I still haven’t gone to a flea market even once yet.  I really need to remedy that soon.  I know they say you won’t miss what you don’t see, but just thinking about all the good pickins’ I might be missing makes me crazy! One of the things I keep a lookout for is old feed sacks and grain sacks, but I’ve only found a few of them in the last few years.

Old Milk Bottle Shape Stencils

In addition to working on several new stencil designs, I’ve also been designing some inexpensive “add-ons”.  Add-ons are smaller stencils that will coordinate with the larger stencils in my line, but can be used by themselves also. The first set of add-on designs are a 2-pack of old milk bottle shape stencils that coordinate with the Milk and Cream Co. design. The first one is an outline of an old milk bottle. Here’s how it looks paired with the Milk and Cream Co. stencil. The second one {Read More}

it is well with my soul sign stencil

Happy weekend everyone! I have a new sign stencil to introduce in my line that I hope you’ll love. One of my most popular free images is the It is Well with My Soul photograph (download HERE), so I wanted to make an inspirational sign stencil with the same title. I used the stencil on this pallet wood coat hook, and love how it turned out, so I want to show  you how super easy it is to make one of {Read More}

Stenciled Drop Cloth Pillow and Down Time

My stencil sales have been coming in at a somewhat slow and steady pace, which was fine, because it was a pace I could keep up with.  Then BAM, as soon as I introduced the Milk & Cream Co. stencil design, orders started pouring in.  I wasn’t prepared to get so many orders so quickly and I spent the weekend up to my ears in Milk and Cream. Of course, that’s a very good thing, but by yesterday I was exhausted, and in dire need of {Read More}

Milk and Cream Co. Sign on Stool and Chalkboard

It’s been more than 2 years ago since I made my first Milk and Cream Co. sign. Since I only had 1 antique window like that, I started making them on glass photo frames. And they sold, and they sold, and they sold, and to date I’ve made almost 50 more of them! Finally I realized that since other people love the design as much as I do, it was time to make make it available as a reusable stencil so anyone {Read More}

Amazing Grace Sign Stencil and Sign Giveaway!

Inspirational signs have always been some of the best-sellers in my shop, and one of my favorites has always been the “Amazing Grace” design, which was based on the rendition by Chris Tomlin.  I have made and sold quite a few of them, but eventually I got tired of making the same design over and over, so I “retired” that sign design.  I’ve heard from many of you who are church pianists, are on worship teams, or are worship leaders, and I’ve {Read More}

Upcycled Clay Pots and Farmhouse Patio

I am SO not a natural gardener, but this year I’ve really gotten motivated to improve the appearance of our front yard, with flowers and garden decor. After planting my “flower chair” a few weeks ago, my oldest son decided we needed even more flowers for our front porch, so he bought more flowers and pulled out some of my clay pots and other containers to plant them in.  I love clay pots, but as I looked at them, they started calling {Read More}

Repurposed Milk Crate Padded Storage Stool

Repurposed Milk Crate Padded Storage Stool I’ve always loved old metal milk crates, because they make useful storage containers that look great, so I brought another one home a few weeks ago from an auction.  This one had been well-used and is super rusty and some of the metal slats on the bottom were broke, so I thought it needed some attention to make it look special again. Of course, the perfect thing to use on it was the Milk {Read More}
