This antique advertisement for Hartford Tires has such pretty typography and would be perfect as a framed print for a “man cave”, but I’ve also come up with a fun and useful image transfer project that would be a perfect gift!
Antique Advertisement – Fruit Press Kitchen Appliance and Chalkboard Printable
Here’s an antique advertisement image for a Brighton Fruit Press from a late 1800’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine. I’ve included the original image, as well as one with the background removed, and also a chalkboard printable version that would look great as kitchen wall art. {CLICK ON IMAGES TO ENLARGE} Here’s the image with the background removed. This would make a nice image transfer on a towel, or as a sign – just reverse the image with Picmonkey first. Here’s the text part of {Read More}
4 Chalkboard Projects and Time-Saving Tips
I’ve had a lot of people leave comments over the last few years, wondering how I get so many projects done each week, so I thought I’d share a few of my secrets. 1. First of all, I know many of you are employed outside the home. I am not. Both my blog and my shop ARE my business, and both were started because I am a homeschooling mom, and if I was to bring in any income, it needed to {Read More}
Farmhouse Table Makeover…Again
Kitchen tables have been like a revolving door in my house over the last several years. We started out with an oak table (sorry, no photo of it) that we bought about 9 years ago, when we still lived in Missouri. When we moved to Illinois, we used the table for a few months, but it was too long for our new kitchen, so when we remodeled the kitchen (seen here), my husband removed the legs, and I painted and {Read More}
Numbered Tags Silhouette Tutorial
Yesterday, several people left comments, wanting a Silhouette (affiliate link) tutorial to make the Brown Paper Number Tags, so here it is! It really is very easy, but I know having a visual is easier than just written instructions, so I’ve provided both. Step 1 – You’ll need to have a stencil font downloaded on to your computer, which you’ll use to create the numbers or letters inside the tags. Click HERE to download the font I used on my tags. Once you’ve {Read More}

Brown Paper Number Tags
I told you last week you might be seeing more brown paper projects, because I’m on a brown paper kick right now. I decided to challenge myself to see how many projects I can come up with using it. I don’t know if I’ll do it all year, but I’ll do it as long as it’s still fun! This time, I made some adorable alphabet and number tags. Technically, I used brown craft cardstock paper, not regular grocery bag kind of paper, although {Read More}
Little Child’s Chair
A few weeks ago, when I went to Arkansas to bring my college son home for Christmas break, we stopped at an antique store along the way, and I found this little child’s chair sitting outside the shop.
The Lord’s Prayer Antique Hymn Page Printable
Of all the beautiful old hymns, my favorite ones are actual passages of Scripture that were set to music, like this, “The Lord’s Prayer” song. Occasionally gospel songwriters, both past and present, include lyrics that just don’t line up with what the Bible teaches, but you can’t go wrong when you set actual Scripture to music. It’s also one of the best ways to memorize Scripture, for people who are auditory learners, like myself. This page came from a beautiful antique {Read More}
Vintage School Desk Makeover
I’ve been given several old school desks over the years, from people whose kids had outgrown them. I often repurpose parts of them, like the antique alphabet school page sign I made from the top of another desk, but this one didn’t have any parts that were easily removable, so it would get a makeover instead. All in all, it was in decent condition, but a child had scratched some words into the top of the desk, and the “greige” {Read More}
