Whenever I’m giving a room a makeover, I’m always flying by the seat of my pants, with only a general idea of the look I’m going for. I figure it out as I go, and as I root through my house and workshop to see what I have to work with, but this time it was a doozy. You see, a few weeks ago, I decided to give our bedroom a makeover. We haven’t done a single thing to it, since {Read More}
Back to School Decor Roundup – Old School Style!
Today, I’m sharing a Back to School Inspired Roundup of some of my favorite projects, graphics, and decor. Based on the number of them, you may think I loved school and was a good student, but alas, I wasn’t. I spent most of my days behind the desk, staring out the window, waiting for the recess bell to ring. Nonetheless, I love school-inspired projects and think they make great home decor. I’ve included lots of free printables, fun projects, and {Read More}
Vintage Decor Inspiration Party – Knick of Time Tuesday #145
Welcome back to Knick of Time Tuesday I have got some fabulous features for you today! Before we get started, I thought I’d share a glimpse into the crazy busy, but totally fun time I had last week. Monday through Friday, I taught a “Junk Art” class for VBS. I was surprised how much my students absolutely loved it. Before the week was over, they already wanted to know if I’d be teaching it again next year. Future junkers – {Read More}
New Book Page Canvas Art Design
It’s been a busy, fun and crowded, 2-1/2 weeks at my house, while my mom, nephew, and niece were here visiting, and I’m sad it’s come to a close. They are boarding the train to return home shortly, and my house will seem too quiet for the next few days. I’m already looking forward to September, when my mom and dad will return for another visit. I haven’t worked on many projects while my mom was here, but a customer {Read More}
Guest Cottage Room Reveal {in an Old Farmhouse Shed}
It’s finally finished! We started this project in July of last year, and I was overly optimistic, and thought my new guest cottage room / photo studio would be done by the end of September. Ha! Well, at least it was completed before the end of September this year. It was worth the wait though, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. To give you an idea of the work that went into this room, you have to {Read More}

Salvaged Wood Display Shelf
Yawn…I must be getting old, because I used to work on projects until the wee hours of the morning, but lately I can barely keep my eyes open until 10. I’m hoping once the daylight starts lasting longer, I’ll have more energy, because I am a night owl by nature, and can’t seem to accomplish much lately. That has absolutely nothing to do with today’s post, it just explains to you why if you notice me posting less frequently, it’s because {Read More}
Book Page Canvas Wall Art
This week I’ve been focusing on expanding my “line”of book page canvas wall art signs. It’s a stretch to call it a “line”, as I have two styles available right now, but I will be adding more next week, and plan to create additional styles, and may offer some printable versions as well. My newest one is this Amazing Grace canvas sign. I used pages from a very old Bible, which are extremely fragile to work with, but their color {Read More}
Can You Guess The Mystery Parts?
Before I tell you much about the sign I made over the weekend, I’m wondering how many of you can guess what the parts were originally part of. If I didn’t already know, there’s no way I would have guessed, but I’m curious if any of you can. Here’s what the pieces look like up close. Any guesses? Okay, don’t peek yet, but I’ll give you the answer at the end of the post. Anyway, recently, I bought two old {Read More}
Repurposed Antique Headboard into Coat Rack
If only I had more space… You have no idea how often those words cross my mind, and they definitely were on my mind today, as I was photographing this headboard-turned-coat rack to list in my shop. The details and shape are just gorgeous. I used Blue Minerals Chalk Paint Powder to make chalky paint, and distressed it just enough to highlight the details. I added 3 ornate coat hooks, although there is room to add 2 more, if {Read More}
